What Do We Do?

We specialise in solving the taxation problems of private clients.

McKie & Co offers bespoke taxation advice on matters of private client taxation to solicitors, accountants and other advisers of private clients. We also provide such advice directly to individuals, trusts, companies and other entities.

We won the ‘Tax Consultancy Team’ award in the Taxation Awards 2012. This award recognises the strength of our tax consultancy services to private clients and their advisers.   That strength comes from the pleasure we take in serving our clients in providing technically accurate and practical solutions to their taxation problems.   In 2009/2010 we won the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners' Award 'Boutique Firm of the Year' in the Society's Private Client Awards.  The judges said:-

Where Are We?

Our offices are situated in Somerset but we have meeting room facilities in London.  We shall, if our clients so wish, travel to them.  Our clients are based all over the UK and overseas.
 

Who We Are?

McKie & Co consists of two principals, Simon and Sharon McKie.  Simon is a chartered accountant, barrister and chartered tax adviser.  Sharon is a solicitor and chartered tax adviser.  Both have specialised in private client tax matters for many years.  They are the joint authors of Tolley’s Estate Planning and sit on a number of technical committees of professional bodies concerned with the taxation of the private client.

McKie & Co has been in practice for fourteen years and some of our clients have been with us since then.  One such person is Roger Maggs, Managing Director of Hampden Tax Consultants Ltd who has said:-

Why Us?

We provide bespoke taxation advice of the highest technical standard whilst taking account of practical constraints.  Tax legislation is becoming ever more complex and we take care to provide clear logically ordered advice which is free of jargon.
